Despite the declaration of Chamundi Hill as a plastic-free zone by the Chamundi Hill Area Development Authority, recent observations raise serious concerns. On August 8, 2025, plastic bottles were found at the coconut-breaking site within the temple premises, casting doubt on the effectiveness of the plastic ban.
The administrative officer had officially enforced the plastic prohibition, aiming to preserve the sanctity and ecological balance of the hill. However, the presence of numerous plastic bottles inside the temple area contradicts the claim of a plastic-free Chamundi Hill.

This situation calls for immediate action from the concerned authorities to uphold the integrity of the plastic ban and ensure the hill remains clean and environmentally safe.
