International Day of Yoga conveyed message of peace, stability Celebrated All over the world

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday greeted the enthusiastic participation in the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) across India and the globe.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting shared a video featuring yoga events organized everywhere in the world to commemorate IDY 2025.

In an X post, the Ministry said: “Transcontinental and trans-time zone, the world came together to celebrate. The 11th International Yoga Day was celebrated with the theme: ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health.’ From ‘Me’ to ‘We,’ yoga is shaping a healthier, harmonious world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi invited the world to the ‘Yoga for Humanity’ and emphasized the importance of inner peace for global harmony.”

Responding to the post, PM Modi tweeted on X: “Delighted to witness International Day of Yoga being celebrated with so much fervor in India as also other parts of the world!”

PM Modi began the IDY celebrations on Friday from Visakhapatnam’s scenic beachfront, as part of nearly 5 lakh participants of a group yoga demonstration after observing the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP), a 45-minute Yoga routine choreographed.

The event was national in scale as part of a broader movement, with Yoga Sangam classes simultaneously held at over 3.5 lakh centers across the country, showing how yoga as a tool for overall well-being was becoming popular and deep.

The theme of this year’s celebrations, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects the deep correlation between individual health and worldwide well-being in keeping with India’s ancient motto of “Sarve Santu Niramaya” — May all be free from disease.

In addition to open sessions, new programs like “Yoga with Family” and “Yoga Unplugged”—focused on connecting with the youth—are being introduced on portals like MyGov and MyBharat, fostering mass-level digital participation.

Since the United Nations General Assembly of 2015 embraced India’s proposal to observe June 21 as International Day of Yoga, Prime Minister Modi has led celebrations from places like New Delhi, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Mysuru, Srinagar, and even New York’s UN Headquarters, and IDY became a worldwide wellness movement.
