Mysore, August 19 — Residents of Vijayanagar 3rd Stage are deeply concerned after a third traffic accident occurred near Chowdeshwari Temple within just one week. The latest incident involved a school bus that crossed the white line and crashed into a food delivery bike. The rider was seriously injured and is now being treated at Aishwarya Hospital.
According to eyewitnesses, the bus was carrying around 10 to 12 children. Thankfully, none of them were hurt, but locals say the situation could have been much worse. The bus driver claimed he swerved to avoid a cow lying on the road. However, many residents are questioning whether the driver could have waited and whether the safety of children was properly considered.

This area has become known for frequent accidents, with many drivers ignoring traffic rules. At Sangam Circle, vehicles often skip the roundabout and take sudden left turns, putting lives at risk. School buses are especially being driven carelessly, with little attention to the safety of the children inside.
Just a few days ago, an Omni van was involved in another accident near the park beyond Sangam Circle. Luckily, there were no children in the vehicle at the time. But residents say that if children had been present, the outcome could have been tragic.
Parents are now demanding accountability. They want to know who is responsible for hiring school bus drivers and whether those drivers are properly trained. They say every child’s safety must be treated as a top priority.
11 News of Mysore joins the community in calling on the government to take urgent action. Strict laws must be enforced against careless drivers, especially those transporting schoolchildren. This is not just about traffic rules—it’s about protecting lives.
