Mysuru: Police have cracked a major silver robbery case involving 16 kg of stolen metal from the Hebbalu Police Station limits. The daring heist was carried out by a gang that tied up security personnel and fled with the silver — aided by a driver formerly employed by the owner.

Investigations revealed that the driver, burdened by debt, had contacted a notorious criminal from Gujarat to orchestrate the robbery. Using scientific methods to gather evidence, police tracked down the prime accused in Disha village, Banaskantha district, Gujarat, and took him into custody.

A total of seven accused have been arrested so far, with one still on the run. Search operations are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspect.
Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar confirmed the breakthrough and praised the team’s efforts in solving the case.
