Bengaluru: A 29-year-old mason, identified as Mr Prasnjit Das from West Bengal and residing in Hoody, died by suicide on Monday afternoon by jumping from the Nayandahalli Flyover on Mysuru Road, between the elevated metro station and the service road.
Two coworkers had been travelling in an auto-rickshaw when they reached the flyover. Mr Das asked the driver to stop and then abruptly exited the vehicle, leapt from the flyover and fell to his death instantly. His coworker Mithun stated that Mr Das had recent family troubles and suspected they may have led to this act.
The local police have launched an investigation. They are in the process of taking statements from Mr Das’s wife and other family members, who are travelling from West Bengal.
The incident took place around 15.32PM in the afternoon
