At least nine people were killed after a bridge collapsed July 9 in the Vadodara district of India’s Gujarat state. The bridge fell during heavy rain, and several vehicles were washed into the river.
The bridge, which was built in 1985, collapsed while cars were traveling over it, confirmed Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel. At least five people were rescued, but rescue workers are continuing to search for others.
