Bengaluru, August 10, 2025 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised Bengaluru’s youth and technological innovation for their pivotal role in the success of Operation Sindoor, a swift and strategic military strike that showcased India’s defense capabilities.
Speaking at the foundation stone ceremony of the Orange Line of Namma Metro and other infrastructure projects, Modi said, “This is my first visit to Bengaluru after Operation Sindoor. The operation demonstrated India’s strength to the world, and Bengaluru’s tech talent played a key role in its success.”
Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of New India
Modi emphasized that the operation was powered by the Make in India initiative, with contributions from Indian defense technology and start-ups based in Bengaluru. “India brought Pakistan to its knees within hours. This was possible due to our indigenous capabilities,” he said.
Bengaluru: Driving India’s Growth
The Prime Minister hailed Bengaluru as a symbol of New India’s rise, blending spiritual depth with technological excellence. He noted that the city’s companies are not just competing globally but are poised to lead.
“Cities like Bengaluru must be future-ready. The central government is committed to supporting urban infrastructure and smart city development,” Modi added.
Metro Expansion and Connectivity
Modi also inaugurated the Yellow Line of Namma Metro, connecting R.V. Road to Bommasandra, and laid the foundation for Metro Phase 3. He flagged off three Vande Bharat trains, enhancing regional connectivity.
He highlighted that India now has 160 airports, up from 74 in 2014, and is the third-largest metro network globally. “We must ensure that products made in India are of the highest quality and meet global standards,” he said.
Unity in Governance
Addressing concerns about central-state coordination, Modi said, “Whether it’s the central or state government, we are all here to serve the people. We must work together for the nation’s progress.”
